A great "Q&A" session with the kids on various topics ranging from the inner-workings of the Jail to badges & uniforms worn by Law Enforcement Officers.

Sgt. Everette Brockington poses with a new friend at 1st BC Child Development Center.

Always time for a hug... Must have some terrific health benefits, too!

After receiving his clean bill of health, McGruff poses at the Living Well Health Fair in LaGrange Mall.

"If you're healthy, and you know it say 'CHEESE'!"

A new badge for our new "eyes and ears" in the neighborhood!

FBI warns of a recent phone scam - 2/15/12

According to the FBI, telemarketing scammers are calling residents in Mississippi and advising them that they are eligible for a Government grant. Oh, by the way... There is also a "Processing Fee" which requires you supply the caller with your credit card/bank account number.

Be skeptical! Telemarketing scammers cannot TAKE money from you; contrarily, you have to GIVE it to them. Sheriff Turner and the FBI offer the following advice: If you receive one of these calls, please remember that when you send money to people you do not know personally or give personal or financial information to unknown callers, you increase your chances of becoming a victim of telemarketing fraud.

To report a suspicious phone call (scammer), please call 911. TCSO will be happy to send a Deputy out to take your report..

Sun South Theft - 2/10/12 - Recognize These Suspects or Their Van?

TCSO Deputies en route to a report of a Burglary at Sun South (3452 Hogansville Road) discovered that the front door's plate glass window had been shattered. From there, surveillance video shows two suspects entering the main show room and removing approximately 24 pieces of lawn care equipment. The suspects wore masks, hats and dark-colored clothing. Moving quickly throughout the store, the subjects stuffed the products inside a mini van and fled the location before Deputies arrived.

Sheriff Donny Turner cautions citizens when purchasing lawn care (and electronic) equipment, to be certain that the brand new products are being properly sold by a licensed distributor before buying. If you know of equipment being sold suspiciously, you may contact the Troup County Crime Stoppers Hotline at (706)812-1000. If you recognize the men, or have any further information regarding this case of Theft, please call the Troup County Crime Stoppers. Remember, you can remain anonymous...
