At approximately 2:42 am, on
Thursday, Troup County Sheriff’s Deputies engaged in a chase with a Jeep
Cherokee observed traveling northbound on Hogansville Road (US Highway 29) in
the area of Sivell Road without the use of its headlights.
The vehicle continued on

mph). As the Jeep Cherokee approached Beasley Road, the driver lost control of
the vehicle, striking a stop sign and two trees at that location.
The driver of the vehicle,

wooded area. He was captured by Deputies shortly thereafter.
As a result Askew arrested
and charged with Having a Defective Headlight, Reckless Driving, Driving

of an Officer, Fleeing and Attempting to Elude and Violating his Probation
(Superior).
