Sims Road and Perkins Road (near the intersection) were re-opened to thru-traffic after Tuesday's brush fire that burned out of control. The Troup County Fire Department and Troup County Sheriff's Deputies responded to cordone off the area and get the fire under control. The only concern, thereafter, was heavy smoke throughout the rest of the evening.
