TROUP COUNTY, GA - Congratulations to Patrol Sergeant Brockington for being named Deputy of the Year from the LaGrange Optimist Club.
Sheriff Donny Turner and the Troup County Sheriff's Office presented him with the award today.
Sergeant Brockington has earned this distinguished honor through his exemplary service at TCSO. His law enforcement career began with the LaGrange Police Department in 1993, while working in the Patrol and Training Divisions.
In 2002, Brockington applied for a position at the Troup County Sheriff's Office. After his hire, Brockington was assigned to the Patrol Division before transferring to Criminal Investigations for 2 years. Just two years later, he earned a promotion to Sergeant and returned to Patrol as a Shift Supervisor.
Sergeant Brockington is also a member of the Georgia Army National Guard. In Agust 2010, he deployed to the Middle East to play a part in "Operation Enduring Freedom". Brockington was stationed in Qatar, based out of Kuwait, where he was the NCO in charge of the Armory over weapons and ammunitions. Sergeant Brockington returned to Troup County in November of 2011.
Upon resuming his duties at TCSO, he has served with distinction and outstanding efforts earning him the title "Deputy of the Year."
The Sheriff's Office says, "Sergeant Everette Brockington is an invaluable asset to Troup County citizens, the United States of America and the Troup County Sheriff's Office."
